My Tattoo's

Me and my beautiful chummy Amy ( Amy's Attic ) are constantly talking about tattoos and I thought I would write a post on the tattoos I have ( I have three..so far) and to see what your opinion is in regard to tattoos in general.

Ever since I was little, tattoos have played quite a big part in my life as my dad is covered in them and my mom has one too, we would always watch shows like Miami Ink and from the age of 8 I said I would be covered in tattoos like my dad.
Turn the clocks forward ten years and you'd find me nervously shaking and having little waves of panic as I sat in my tattooists (Leah Moule) shop (Karma Collective) waiting to get my very first tattoo for my 18th.
Its safe to say I have NEVER been that nervous in my life but Leah reassured me I would be okay as long as I ate something before and had sugary foods and a drink with me along with two painkillers.
I chose Karma Collective (aka. Spear Studio) after a lot of thought and even more research and even though it would cost me a little more than everywhere else I knew that the artist were worth it and that the studio itself was beautifully clean and safe(my dad has his tattoos done there too).
Leah personally designed my tattoo from scratch so I knew no one else would have a tattoo the same as mine which was a plus.

The very first tattoo I got led to me being in the tattooist for 6 hours and was actually really painful, but I adore it nonetheless. What is this tattoo you ask? A Panda.
A squishy, cute and bright teddy panda. I love him.
Straight after I had it done, before Leah wrapped it up.

Mmm, DNA juice.

When I got home on the night I felt drained and so sick but I ate then went to sleep and felt better in the morning, until I washed it and realised just how much it hurt..I may have almost passed out.
After that first day though it was fine, just a bit sore and bruised.
Now however, I fall more in love with it every single day, I couldn't imagine my arm without it, I love the bright colours and the size of it, it doesn't have a deep meaning but I don't think tattoos need one to make you feel good about yourself, it makes me smile every time I look at it and get compliments from strangers frequently which makes me happy too!

The next tattoo I got was for Christmas that year and I had had the idea in my head from about year 8 and ever since I had wanted it done... A Nightmare Before Christmas tattoo.
This tattoo has slightly more meaning as I've watched the movie every single Christmas from when I was 13 until now and Tim Burton is a huggeee inspiration in my life and in my art.

Taken straight after it was finished.
This one only took about an hour maybe less and although it was still painful in areas it was tolerable and didn't cause me much pain in the days after.
It was done by Sarah (also from Karma).

Finally, my latest tattoo is a matching one I had done a few weeks ago with my best friend of 8 years Laura, we kept saying that we should get a tattoo that represented each other and our two other best friends ( sid and jess) as we've all been best friends for years.
So, we bit the bullet and booked to go in the next day and had a moon (and three stars) designed for us but before I add the pictures I should probably tell you why a moon and three stars.
Well, the moon represents the person who the tattoo is on, for example, my moon represents me.
Then, the three stars represent Laura and the two boys (smaller stars).
I'm slightly in love with it, it is on my ribs which hurt but was by far the least painful of the three.
I look so rosy, getting tattooed.

After, with Izzy (the tattooist)

This one was done by Izzy from Skinnys Ink , it took about an hour each and they turned out beautifully!
Excuse the room, healed moon.
Better shot of the moon on my ribs.

Righty! thank you for reading the longest post EVER! I just love tattoos, eek!

What are your thoughts on tattoos?
